Join Kaight and Salt & Still on September 9 for an in-store sashiko stitching and visible mending demonstration at Kaight’s Beacon location.
Sashiko stitching is a traditional Japanese technique that is ideal for creating decorative patterns and practical mending of clothing and home goods.
Ali from Salt & Still will be showing different decorative stitching and visible mending techniques. Please bring an item or clothing or a home good* in need of a decorative update to the event. You will be supplied with complimentary sashiko needles, thread, mending materials and instruction on how to enhance your garment or home good with hand-stitched details.
*Clothing and home goods of a medium thickness that are made of a natural material are ideal for hand stitching. Examples include a cotton or denim top, pair of jeans, pillowcase, or linens like a napkin or tea towel.
