Indigo Jacket with Hand Stitching

Indigo Jacket with Hand Stitching

Highlands Foundry x Salt + Still Collaboration

This is a Haori style jacket made by The Highlands Foundry using vintage Indigo hand woven and hand dyed cloth from Mali, West Africa. The cloth is cotton and is the most beautiful indigo shade with flecks of natural running throughout. The cloth is from the 1960s in is very soft with an incredible drape. The body of the jacket has a hand knotted fringe bottom and the sleeve and front bands are made from vintage stripe indigo cloth also from Mali. After The Highlands Foundry designed and sewed the jacket Salt + Still created an amazing hand stitched motif for the back of the jacket with neutral cotton sashiko thread. Each stitch is done by hand and truly makes this a one of a kind special piece.

This jacket is a relaxed fit based off of a vintage Japanese Haori jacket. This is a one size fits all and unisex piece.
